What happened, what it means for you, and what our review says about the product it touches.
A news note covers one event that affects a product we have reviewed in full: a breach, a vulnerability, a published audit, a change of owner, a new law or a research paper. Each note says what happened and when, what it means for you, and where the product's review stands.
Facts come from the primary source — the researchers' paper, the company's own announcement, the court filing or the text of the law — and are listed at the foot of the note. If an event shows that a review is out of date, we correct the review first.
