Our goal is simple: honest, verified assessments that help you pick a tool you can actually trust.

Who We Are
PrivacyPick.com is run by a small editorial team focused on privacy and security tools. Reviews and byline are led by Juan Martinez. We have no ownership interest in any product we review. Our income comes from affiliate commissions and on-page advertising — affiliate links are disclosed on every page where a product link appears.
How We Rate
Every product gets a score out of 10. There is no single rubric for everything, because the question changes with the category — a VPN is judged on what a network operator can see, a browser on what every site it loads is told, a password manager on how the vault is encrypted and who could ever reach it. Each rubric is a set of weighted categories for what makes a tool of that kind trustworthy, not a flat average of every spec. The weights are below; what each category actually covers is on that category's own page.

Our Testing Process
Before publishing a review, we verify the trust-critical claims against primary sources — a no-logs audit against the actual audit report or court record, a password manager's encryption against the vendor's own technical documentation, a browser's fingerprinting resistance against independent test results — not the marketing page. Protocols, security features and pricing are documented directly from the vendor's current terms, and each review records when its facts were last checked.
Editorial Independence & Disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links: when you sign up for a product through one, we may receive a commission. This commission never influences our ratings or recommendations — products are scored on merit alone. If a vendor pays a higher commission but has worse terms for users, it gets a lower rating. We also run on-page advertising, which is kept out of review verdicts and call-to-action areas. We hold no ownership stake in any product we review.
